CBS SPORTS TALK DOMINATION

When you hear “tough crowd,” you usually think about comedy clubs, right? Well the truth is, sports fans give the comedy crowd a real run for their money. Just think about the firestorm that “Deflategate” created.

Sports fanatics are some of the most passionate, opinionated people around. I can’t emphasize enough what a gift it is to be able to hold the attention of a sports radio audience that is fickle, unyielding, and outspoken. So, *drumroll, how do you win them over?

Some keys to the game:

  • – Know your stuff inside and out.
  • – Have your finger on the pulse of your market’s mood.
  • – Possess a captivating personality.
  • Expect the unexpected. Just like sports, there is an unpredictable element there that no one can foresee.

Luckily for us, CBS Radio on-air talent possess all four of these elements in spades.

Radio Ink recently published its Top 30 Local Sports Talkers in America list, and we are pumped to say that six of the top seven CBS Radio Sports talent made the cut, with Mike Francesa coming in at #1! His show is #1 in his station’s target of Men 25-54 in the New York City Market. We had a blast with Mike this past year when we activated the Chevy Goes Emoji campaign.

Other top sports shows from the list hailed from major sports markets:  Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Philly, and Washington D.C.

  • Boomer & Carton, WFAN Sports Radio (New York)
  • Mike Francesa, WFAN Sports Radio (New York)
  • Boers and Bernstein Show, 670 The Score (Chicago)
  • Mully and Hanley, 670 The Score (Chicago)
  • The Sports Junkies, 106.7 The Fan (Washington, D.C.)
  • Josh Innes, SportsRadio 94WIP (Philadelphia)
  • Angelo Cataldi, SportsRadio 94WIP (Philadelphia)
  • Felger & Massarotti, 98.5 The Sports Hub (Boston)
  • Toucher & Rich, 98.5 The Sports Hub (Boston)
  • Valenti & Foster, 97.1 The Ticket (Detroit)

We love the passion and dedication these on-air personalities bring to their shows, and have had a blast incorporating them into key campaigns for top clients over the years. Cheers to another year of winning the crowd over in 2016!
