Automotive companies are increasingly thinking beyond horsepower, miles per gallon and fine corinthian leather interior. BMW has established a new venture capital incubator called iVentures, investing $100 million in this future-oriented think tank for developing technologies and mobility services for urban transportation & navigation:
“My City Way,” a set of location-based urban navigation apps won this year’s “BigApps 2.0″ event”
Others, like Ford’s “My Ford Touch,” are taking the in-car “pull” content experience to the next level. As these type of platforms & services continue to evolve, one wonders whether we will EVER want to leave our vehicles. That would certainly seem to bode well for traditional and IP-based Radio companies. What are your thoughts?
