In this month’s issue of GQ, our own Carson Daly (morning show host of 97.1 AMP Radio in L.A.) has shared 10 essential things that he could not live without. Topping the list at #1 is the ‘On Beat Xtreme Speaker System’ from JBL.
Says Carson, “I was a DJ in college and have been around radio stations forever, testing every speaker on earth, and JBL just got it right with this one. I went fancy camping with a bunch of friends and family (which is like camping, but with housekeeping), and we had a big outdoor BBQ with 75 people and I just turned on this small mini-boombox system, and the sound was so great it was like we were in a nightclub. It’s so crisp and clear, and has really rich bass. I just can’t recommend it more. I’ll be selling them door-to-door soon enough.”

The above article takes me back to a partnership that The Altitude Group worked on with JBL to amplify their “Hear the Truth” initiative. We enlisting some of CBS’ high-profile music radio personalities to help inspire the listening audience. Each on-air personality gave away one of three JBL products per week to share and express their passion for the products. Radio stations strategically ran on-air promos to drive consumers online for their chance to win. The Altitude Group was thrilled to work with JBL to demonstrate the clear, authentic sound of JBL products.
Other picks form Carson’s ‘Can’t Live Without List’ include ‘The Harley Davidson Street Glide’, which he road on his “last hurrah” road trip before his son was born, the 2012 Toyota Sienna that Carson calls the ‘The Swagger Wagon” and Gogo Inflight Internet which he credits with calming the nervous flyer in him.
