Last.fm Launches Festival App – Find Your Music Festival

There is something indescribably special Last.fm Festival Appabout attending a music festival. Yes, the idea of watching your favorite bands and musicians perform in one place, in a short amount of time, is amazing. However, when actually standing there amidst an enormous crowd of people from all walks-of-life, you are overcome with an extraordinary feeling of excitement knowing that for a short time total strangers are all immersed in the music, completely elated, connected with the performer and each other.

The only issue is with millions of music events across the globe how do you know which ones to attend will create everlasting memories? Enter Last.fm’s new mobile Festival app that uses it’s “scrobbling” technology to suggest music festivals based on people’s listening habits. You might already have Lollapalooza on your list but could miss out on other awesome festivals like the Governor’s Ball in NYC or Outside Lands in San Fransisco.

The Festivals App also tells you the festivals your friends are attending, and gives you a virtual passport with which you can explore the world in search of more festivals, all with the tap of a finger.
Have friends that aren’t scrobbling? While the Last.fm App is most useful for active scrobblers, unregistered users can search for festivals by name or artist, find festivals closest to their GPS location, or by date. Everyone can learn more about artists playing at any festival in the world; complete with similar artists and bios.

I have the app downloaded and personally am looking forward to planning my next music festival experience!
