Nike Asks What’s Better Than a Snow Day?

Was there anything better than being a kid and waking up to snow outside? Hell no!

Nike’s new “Snow Day” commercial captures that magic perfectly. It opens with snow coming in through the bedroom window of New England Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski. He sticks his head through the window, James Brown’s classic song “The Payback” kicks in, and, boom!, some of the finest athletes in the world start strutting down the street for a game of pickup football.

A who’s who of Nike athletes join the game. In addition to Gronkowski, Ndamukong Suh, LeSean McCoy, Luke Kuechly, Ben Roethlisberger, and my favorite, Odell Beckham Jr., all show up to play. Watch the action above. It’s awesome.

Nike has been on a tear of great ads lately. Their “Last” video earlier this fall pulled at heart strings and this summer’s “Short a Guy” was another brilliant take on the neighborhood pickup game.

We’re loving what Nike’s doing with it’s marketing. And personally, I couldn’t be more psyched to see Giants Wide Receiver ODB snag a dumbbell as if he was being covered by some pathetic Eagles DB. Go GMEN!
